The Cal Stars 17U EYBL squad left no doubt as to who was the top team at the event. The group went 4-0 in commanding fashion, showcasing a combination of elite ball movement, high-IQ offensive execution, and relentless defensive pressure. Their ability to string together multiple scoring runs was fueled by unselfish playmaking and a full-court defense that smothered opposing ball handlers into submission.
Whether it was trapping in the half court, turning defense into offense, or dissecting defenses with surgical passing and movement, the Stars played like a group on a mission—and they looked every bit like a problem for opposing teams this Spring/Summer.
Some Of The Player Evaluations:
Brooklynn Haywood | 5’7” | 2026 | Cal Stars 17U EYBL
Haywood was in her bag all weekend long. The prolific scoring guard did whatever she wanted on the floor—attacking gaps, creating off the bounce, and finishing at all three levels. But what really stood out was her defensive engagement, where she brought a new level of intensity. With her scoring instincts and evolving two-way presence, Brooklynn continues to prove she’s one of the elite guards in the country.
Dannyae Turner | 5’6” | 2028 | Team California
Turner was a defensive disruptor all weekend. Her elite speed, lateral quickness, and anticipation make her a nightmare for opposing guards. She gets under ball handlers, blows up passing lanes, and turns defense into offense. For a young guard, her motor and defensive discipline are well beyond her years. A name to circle and track closely in the 2028 class.
Alyssa Rudd | 5’8” | 2026 | Cal Stars 17U EYBL
Rudd brings a rare mix of guard skills and post toughness. She rebounds in traffic, finishes through contact over taller defenders, and confidently steps out to knock down the perimeter jumper. Her versatility is hard to match. She does the dirty work and the flashy stuff. One of Northern California’s most intriguing 2026 prospects.
Lauren Harris | 5’11” | 2026 | NorCal Dynasty
While her deep shooting has always been a calling card, Harris impressed this weekend with her improved decision-making and feel for the game. Despite being the focal point of defensive game plans, she stayed poised and made timely reads to create for teammates. She showed she’s not just a shooter—she’s a playmaker.
Love Forde | 6’2” | 2027 | Cal Stars 17U EYBL
Forde was an anchor inside for the Stars. With soft hands, good footwork, and a strong frame, she consistently finished on PnR actions and cleaned the offensive glass. She’s light on her feet, has great touch, and gives them a physical edge in the paint. Her development trajectory is exciting—definitely one to watch in the 2027 class.
Madalyn Sigrist | 5’9” | 2026 | NorCal Dynasty
Sigrist plays with nonstop energy. Her off-ball movement, instincts, and hustle were elite all weekend. She knows how to find space, cut at the right time, and disrupt defensively. High motor + high IQ = high impact. Every coach loves a kid like this—dependable, smart, and always active.
Tara Dacic | 6’3” | 2025 | Bay City 17U 3SSB
Dacic was one of the most skilled forwards at the event. Her footwork, mid-post scoring, and three-point range make her a matchup problem. She understands spacing, uses angles, and has a calm, cerebral approach to the game. She’s a classic tweener in a good way—can play the 4 or stretch to the 3. The real question is: what are D1 schools waiting for?
Bianca Slone | 6’1” Wing | 2026 | Bay City 17U 3SSB
One of my favorite players to evaluate—Bianca is non-stop activity. She checks all the boxes as a wing prospect: elite size, athleticism, effort, and a versatile scoring package. Her midrange game and touch off the glass are smooth and reliable, and she also flashed range from deep, knocking down threes with confidence. High-energy, high-motor, and D1-ready size at the wing position.
Deoujenea Clay | 5’6” Guard | 2027 | Team California
Explosive. That’s the word that keeps coming up with Deoujenea. Her first step is elite, and she consistently blows by defenders, getting downhill and finishing creatively at the rim, even over length. She uses her athleticism and body control to extend and finish with flair. She’s a blur in transition and a constant threat to collapse a defense.
Ramie Chapman | 5’7” Guard | 2027 | Cal Stars 16U EYBL
A true floor general and vocal leader. Ramie plays with a motor that never stops, always looking to uplift her teammates with both energy and communication. She shoots it well, sees the floor, and her pesky on-ball defense makes life hard for opposing guards. Her growth trajectory is trending up in all the right ways.
Lexi London | 5’9” Guard | 2026 | Team Tet
Lexi came into the weekend looking like a different player—more confident, more vocal, and noticeably more aggressive offensively. She attacked closeouts with purpose, showing a clean midrange pull-up and physicality getting to the cup. Her growth in leadership and assertiveness stood out in a big way.
Andrea Martin | 6’0” Forward | 2028 | Cal Stars 16U EYBL
Only a 2028, but playing like a seasoned veteran. Andrea is versatile, explosive, and disruptive. Her defensive instincts are elite—she once recorded four consecutive steals in a single stretch. Offensively, she’s unselfish and opportunistic. The tools, the mindset, the motor—it’s all there. Big-time prospect.
Sophia Sanchez | 5’7” Guard | Bay City 3SSB
All heart. All toughness. Sophia plays bigger than her size and refuses to back down from anyone. She’s one of those players that sets the tone with her energy and fight. Her motor and competitive edge make her a culture piece for any program.
Taylor Young | 5’9” Guard | Cal Stars 17U EYBL
One word: efficient. Taylor is unselfish to a fault, consistent across the board, and skilled enough to impact without needing volume. She does all the little things right and brings steady production every game. A coach’s dream in terms of reliability and impact.
Elliott Schwartz | 5’9” Wing | 2026 | Team Tet
Gritty and tough. Elliott brings that lunch-pail mentality to every possession. She does the dirty work, plays physical, and isn’t afraid of contact. A glue kid who gives her team an edge and presence on the floor.
Sophia Ross | 5’7” Guard | Cal Stars 17U EYBL
Sophia has turned the corner. Her midrange game was locked in—just automatic all weekend. But what stood out most was her on-ball defense—active hands, physicality, and footwork. She’s maturing into a two-way guard with real upside.
Peyton Patrick | 5’7” Guard | 2027 | NBBA
Peyton had a solid, steady weekend. She’s a cerebral guard who plays with a good feel for the game and sound fundamentals. Nothing flashy, just smart, composed, and consistent. She’s a solid piece that coaches can trust on the floor.
